Foreign Business License (FBL)

Currently, many foreigners wish to start a business in Thailand, where the legal conduct of business by foreigners in Thailand necessitates the application for a business permit for foreigners. (FBL)

According to the Foreign Business Act, p.Law 2545 creates legislation allowing foreigners to enter into business in Thailand, as well as the categories of business that foreigners cannot enter into or can only enter into under certain conditions.

Foreigners applying for a Foreign Business License (FBL) must meet the following criteria:

1. Foreigners over 20 years of age.

2. Foreigners resident or permitted to live in Thailand.

3. Must not be incompetent

4. Must not be in bankruptcy.

5. Must not be involved in a financial criminal case for at least five years after filing.

6. The applicant must not have been imprisoned in a money-related matter within the past 5 years of filing.

7. A person’s license cannot be revoked for at least 5 years after application.
